Did you ever wonder what your future will be like? I know this may seem like a weird question to ask when the end of the world is almost upon us (If anyone no longer wants their car because of the end of the world, I would be happy to take it). However assuming that the world survives whatever it is that is coming, it is interesting to think about our futures.
We can have some many goals and plans for our future but something can come along and change everything. It can completely turn our plans inside out and cause us to go in the opposite direction than what we had planned. Usually an event will happen out of nowhere and be unpredictable. For example, I had to spend all day Monday studying for an exam which is why there was no Motivation Monday this week. Sorry about that. Yes that wasn’t so unpredictable but it is just one example of how our futures can come out differently from what we plan.
Try to think back to when you were a little kid. Think about what the future you imagined for yourself was. Was it anything like what you are actually doing today? I know for me it is pretty different. I imagined myself in college far away from home, playing football or baseball, and studying something in the math field. Yes there are some aspects that are similar to the future I imagined but for the most part, it is far off.
This makes me wonder how the future I imagine for myself today will change like my childhood future changed. If I had to say, I would imagine myself working for some big company as some important manager. However, that could be totally wide of the mark. I could seize some opportunity of starting my own business or be giving the chance to realize my capabilities as a motivational speak. There are so many different ways that my future can deflect from the one I have in my head at the moment. Every second is filled with opportunity, each which affects this picture. Some things we will see coming and have planned, but others will throw us for a loop. These loops are the things I wonder about.
So what is my point here? I don’t know if I have one but that is why I created Wednesday Wonders. I get to rabble about things that float around in my head without needing to make a point. Side note: If you have any suggestion of topics for Wednesday Wonders -like if you actually want to hear what I have to say about something, which makes you awesome- just let me know. However back to my point, which if I had to have one it would be; you can plan a future for yourself all you want but that doesn’t mean it will come true. Sometimes unexpected events occur; events that could change the direction of your future for the better or the worse. You have to realize this and make your future plans change with you. Don’t be afraid to take advantages off different opportunities because they don’t fit into your future plans. One of these opportunities could lead you to a future far beyond what you could have imagined, you just have to be willing to let those plans change.
