Every day that we wake up, we wake up to new opportunities, new people who are waiting to be met, and a new day that has the potential to be great. Not everyone see life like this though. Some people wake up just to go through the day as they always do. They move from one activity to the next just to get things done and get to the end of the day. The next morning they wake up to the sound of their alarm clock to repeat the same process as the day before. They may have one or two days on the weekends that they look forward to, but for the most part they are just living a mundane life not expecting too much from the days they live.
This does not sound like a good way to life. If you are going through each day just doing your best to make it to the weekend, think how much of your life you waste. Yes, maybe you have to go to school or work or do things that you do not necessarily want to do but the point is you have to do them. Whether you want them to be or not, these mundane tasks are a part of your life and most of the time they are a big part. This is why you need to make the most of these tasks and find value in all of them. You have to find a reason to do them.
I will give you an example. In recent weeks I have turned Monday into my favorite day of the week. I never hated Mondays but I realized how much everyone else did. That is why it is my favorite day of the week because I can help make other peoples’ Mondays suck a little less. I do my best to be extra positive on Mondays and help pass that positivity on to others. Yes, I know people aren’t going to start loving Mondays because of me but I can help them to like it just as much as the other days.
It is not all about Mondays, every day of the week should be your favorite. Everyday has just as much potential as the last. This is why I say don’t let your alarm clock be the only reason you get up in the morning. Find something that makes you want to jump out of bed and sing to the birds and greet the rising sun with a smile. Okay that was a little corny but that is almost how I feel every morning. I wake up to embrace the day with a smile because I know what a great day it could be. Maybe I could change someone’s life or just make someone’s day, maybe even just make someone smile. Whatever the case may be I have the opportunity to make a difference. That is what I wake up for: to make a difference and live life to the fullest. What do you wake up for?
