As some of you may have noticed I have been missing for the past few weeks. I would love to say it was because I exploring the Great Barrier Reef or cave diving. However, I was busy with Resident Assistant training and getting ready for school for the past month. Do not worry though, because I am back.
My triathlon is in two weeks and RA training did not just mess with my blog schedule, it threw off my training as well. My swimming really is the area that suffered the most and that’s a problem. Swimming is the area where I needed the most work and now time is running out. This means that it is time to work; it’s crunch time.
In the next two weeks I will have to push myself harder than I ever have before. This is going to be one of the hardest endeavors I have ever taken on. It is going to be so hard because it is so different from anything I have done before. Before when I pushed myself I was already experienced in what I was doing. However, swimming is something that is completely new to me. This is not like running where I just have to push my lungs to their limits. I am going to have to be dedicated. It is going to be a challenge but I am up to it.
That is the thing about crunch: you find out what kind of person you really are. When it is crunch time you do not have time to make excuses or take the easy way out. You have to be honest with yourself and figure out if you are going to push it or give up. Are you the kind of person that quits when the going gets tough; or are you the kind of person that gets going when the going gets tough?
